UCFB launches new pioneering Postgraduate scholarships

UCFB has announced the launch of two major new Postgraduate Scholarships for 2026, reinforcing its commitment to developing the next generation of leaders and innovators in global sport. 

The Sports Leadership Scholarship and the Sport Innovation & Entrepreneurship Scholarship will each award £3,500 towards tuition fees or CPD, supporting outstanding postgraduate students with the ambition to shape the future of the sports industry through leadership, creativity, and enterprise. 

Designed to identify and develop high-potential talent, the scholarships form part of UCFB’s ongoing investment in future-focused skills, industry engagement, and impactful careers in sport. 

The Sports Leadership Scholarship supports individuals who demonstrate strong leadership potential and a commitment to making a meaningful contribution to sport. Applicants may come from backgrounds in sport, education, work, volunteering, or community engagement, and should show a clear drive to develop personally and professionally. 

Successful candidates will reflect UCFB’s values of collaboration, inclusivity, integrity, and excellence, with recipients gaining access to industry mentoring and professional opportunities to support their development as future leaders in sport. 

The Sport Innovation & Entrepreneurship Scholarship recognises students with the creativity and ambition to drive change across the sports industry. It is aimed at individuals with ideas that could shape the future of sport, from digital innovation and emerging technologies to new business models and fan engagement strategies. 

The scholarship supports those who demonstrate initiative, resilience, and a commitment to delivering positive impact through innovation and enterprise, alongside tailored mentoring and access to professional networks to help develop and realise their ideas. 

Darren Williamson, Access and Widening Participation (AWP) Manager at UCFB, said:

These awards are about identifying individuals with real potential – whether as leaders or innovators – and giving them the support, mentoring, and opportunities to turn that potential into impact within the sports industry.”
