UCFB lecturer talks with Wrexham AFC director on how to build success at a football club

A UCFB lecturer recently sat down with Wrexham AFC’s non-executive director and former chief executive of the English Football League, discussing what it takes to build a football club.

Professor Rob Wilson, UCFB’s head of executive recruitment and programmes, spoke with Shaun Harvey on building football clubs and the ever-changing nature of the industry.

On his YouTube channel “Rich and Rob,” Rob interviewed Shaun, going into depth on the role of a CEO and the hard work that goes into running a football club, both on and off the pitch.

Talking about the season-by-season preparation and planning for long-term success, Shaun mentioned trust, preparation and being relentless as top skills required to succeed as a chief executive in sport.

Rob is the course leader of UCFB’s CEO of a Sports Organisation course, one of our Executive Education courses alongside VSI Executive Education.
