UCFB alumna Chloe has gone from strength to strength since graduating from UCFB, going on to work for one of the most historic clubs of the Football League.
Chloe used her degree in BA (Hons) Football Business and Media to secure a role as conference and event sales executive at Bolton Wanderers FC.
She has also previously worked for Notts County and Burnley since graduating in 2022.
Speaking about her role, she said: “I do the end-to-end logistics of all non-matchday events, from conferences, meetings and exhibitions to larger sporting and music events.
“We do all this while building relationships with our clients as well as departments within and outside the workplace and stadium.”
She added: “The best thing about working in football is the whole buzz around the place. We’re working as part of a team to build something bigger. I think when you walk out into the full stadium on a matchday, you do feel like you’ve been a part of that and made that happen.
“Day to day, you’re around like-minded people, and you’ve all got the same interests. Everyone’s a football fan and you’ve always got something to talk about.”
Talking about her experience at UCFB, Chloe said: “My time was brilliant at UCFB. I had a really good three years studying there.
“I learnt a lot and had so many incredible experiences. There’s so many different things that I can pull on, from not only my lectures, but my experiences and the people I’ve met along the way.”
Experiences for Chloe included working at the UEFA Women’s Euros draw and attending a global summit in Miami.
“We spent the week on campus at Inter Miami’s stadium,” Chloe said. “We listened to seminars and guest speakers, networked, and really experienced football in another continent. It was completely different to Europe.
“We also saw lots of other sports, like baseball and ice hockey. It was great not to just see the behind the scenes, but the matchday experiences as well.
“One of the biggest things I pulled from that trip was presenting to the board of directors at Inter Miami. I had a really good time doing that and got some really good feedback.”
Continuing to talk about her time at UCFB, Chloe added: “The thing that sets UCFB apart is the specialised courses they’re able to offer.
“As much as I’ve got a really good degree on my CV, which is what gets you in the door and into the interview, it really is those additional experiences and skills I’m able to pull that got me a job at the end of the day.”
She finished: “You don’t necessarily need to know what field or department you want to be in. For me, it’s important to know that career progression isn’t linear. I’ve gone from ticketing into conference and events, and I’m sure there’ll be other areas I go into.
“The most important thing for me at UCFB was not really knowing, but continuing to say yes to these opportunities.”
