UCFB Manchester recently hosted a Women’s Raise Your Game Event alongside industry partners Kick It Out.
The event, held at our Quay Plaza facility, focused on helping young women network and gain opportunities to help them secure their dream role within the sports industry.
Starting off with a panel discussion, the attendees at the event were able to listen to:
This was then followed by a session with LinkedIn to show the attendees how best to use their network, before the opportunity came about to talk to potential mentors and contacts for their future career.
Mentors and exhibitors came from all over the country, such as from Chelsea FC and BBC Sport, to attend the event and meet with the young women wanting to pursue their career goals.
One of the mentors was UCFB alumna Hilaal Ali, who studied BA (Hons) Football Coaching and Management and now works as a coach at the Liverpool FC Foundation.
“I was once in their shoes,” Hilaal said, “so it was very nice for me to come back and show them that you can become successful from one of these events.”
Chloe Morgan looked back on the day and said: “We’ve been talking about our experiences, the challenges and barriers that we’ve faced.
“I got the chance to talk to some students about what they were looking to do, their ambitions, and I made a few connections.”
This was only a month after UCFB Wembley held its own Raise Your Game Event alongside Kick It Out and fellow industry partners Sky.
