A UCFB sports media student recently gained quality football industry experience by working the National League Play-Off Final at Wembley Stadium.
Reece Sullivan, a BA (Hons) Multimedia Sports Journalism student, got the chance to work at the home of football for the final between Bromley FC and Solihull Moors.
Working for our industry partner the National League, Reece got to the home of UCFB’s Wembley Campus and got an insight into broadcast journalism by seeing TNT Sports set up for the fixture.
Reece’s role involved dealing with media accreditation for the final and taking care of media staff on the day, ranging from the National League’s broadcast partners to newspapers and media staff at the two clubs.
For the first half of the game, Reece had the opportunity to sit in Wembley Stadium’s press box among the multiple media organisations covering the match.
On top of the experience, Reece got to see a thrilling game on the pitch with Bromley securing promotion to the Football League on penalties after a 2-2 draw.
After the match, Reece was able to see pitchside post-match reaction and complete his day’s work.
Following from the experience, he said: “An incredible experience. Thanks to the National League and UCFB for making this happen.”
