A UCFB alumnus has returned to tell us about their journey into the sports law industry since graduating.
Josh Easterbrook, a former BA (Hons) Sports Business and Sports Law student at our Wembley Campus, is now a trainee solicitor at Blaser Mills Law.
Josh started at UCFB in 2017, and spoke about how much he enjoyed his time studying.
He said: “I loved my experience at UCFB and what I really took away from it was the networking opportunities.
“I took the idea of networking my way through a vocational training course, and going the non-traditional legal route into sports law.”
During his time at UCFB, Josh took a trip to Massachusetts and to Harvard University, where he interviewed American academics and NBA officials, on a visit that he said was critical to his dissertation.
He continued, saying how his degree and the skills he gained from it, helped hugely in getting him to where he is today.
Josh added: “Having my degree on my CV essentially created the key to get into the sports clubs I was applying to.
“I emailed all clubs in the vicinity of London and said ‘I’m looking for work experience,’ and without that course name on my CV, I wouldn’t have got a look in at all.
“The foundations that are in place at UCFB set you up to be confident in what you’re saying and the new ideas you’re bringing into the wider sports industry.”
