UCFB graduate Niamh has been talking to us about returning to the home of her university experience, now working at Wembley Stadium with the FA.
Niamh Munday, who studied BA (Hons) Sports Business and Sports Broadcasting at UCFB Wembley, now works at The Football Association as a sales account executive.
Talking about her role, she said: “I work with the events team in hospitality. So, anyone who purchases a box at Wembley, I’ll look after them and make sure they’re having a brilliant experience.
“It also leads me on to selling packages and boxes for events like Oasis and Coldplay concerts. The demand is always here, with it being at Wembley.”
She added: “There’s nothing more than the buzz you get while working an event.
“It’s obviously amazing coming here and just being sat in the office and looking out to the pitch. But I think the events are so special because you’ve got that chance to really enjoy it and look at the work that goes into the event and then when you’re actually here, watching what you’ve achieved as a team; that’s what’s really special.”
Speaking about her time at UCFB, she said: “I think a lot of people who go to university at the end of the day are given a bit of paper. I think UCFB is so much more than that.
“If I’d have got this degree somewhere else, I wouldn’t have had the connections at the FA to get this job.
“I think it stands out just because of how many connections they have. I just wanted to be straight out and working, but I think because UCFB offers the opportunities to work alongside the degree, you’re not in every day.
“There’s times where you’re busy and you will be working towards your degree, but you do also have the chance to go and work alongside and that’s what I liked about it.”
