As part of the National Student Survey, which is currently open for 2025, we’re looking at some of the improvements UCFB has made in the last year.
The survey is an incredible opportunity for students to voice their opinions on how the student experience can be improved at universities across the country.
In the 2024 results, UCFB maintained a 78 per cent satisfaction rate, while scoring higher than 80 per cent in the topic areas of:
Our biggest growth was in mental wellbeing (a growth of 5.4 percentage points) while academic support (88 per cent satisfaction rate) remains our strongest field.

As part of the survey, UCFB received feedback from students on how to better their experience. Here’s what we received and how we have responded since.
We’d like timetables to be produced earlier as it affects how us students organise our work/study balance.
The timetabling team improved the structure and organisation of scheduling classes, and timetables came out earlier.
We’d like more sports law industry opportunities and internships.
UCFB provided CAA Base internships (Players’ Agency) and organised a visit to Brentford FC’s sports law department to gain knowledge and networking opportunities.
We’d like to see more female panellists at ECP events.
The ECP team increased the numbers of female panellists at their events, with guests from organisations such as KickItOut, She’s a Baller, Manchester United, The Powerhouse Project, Liverpool FC Foundation and many more.
The mid-module evaluation process needs to be updated to make it more effective at improving the quality of teaching and the resources used.
We changed to an end of module evaluation process to match up with students’ needs.
Can we have more guidance on Artificial Intelligence?
UCFB produced an Ethical AI Guidance document and video to guide students, both of which are available on the library button on Moodle.
I am not really aware of what the Student Union does, who is involved or where it is based at UCFB?
We have set up dedicated spaces for the SU Presidents, and are helping them raise their profile across the university and on the Student Voice page on Moodle.
