Christopher is an experienced football finance professional, joining UCFB after several years in the Deloitte Sports Business Group. He holds an MBA specialising in the football industry, and is a qualified ACA Chartered Accountant, gaining Fellowship of the ICAEW in 2024.
Christopher is Course Leader for the MSc Football Business degree at UCFB, where he lectures in football finance at undergraduate and postgraduate level, and specialises in football financial regulations. He also provides executive education services in the field of football finance.
Alongside his academic duties, Christopher provides media commentary on the business and finances of the game as an established football finance expert. Amongst contributions to TV, radio and written press at regional, national and international level, Christopher has also appeared on the BBC Radio 4 Today Programme.
During his time at Deloitte, Christopher worked with football clubs, associations and governing bodies around the world, and specialised in the governance, risk management and financial regulation of football clubs.
Christopher was also co-author of the world-renowned Deloitte Football Money League and Deloitte Annual Review of Football Finance publications from 2016 to 2019, and led on the Group’s coverage of Premier League transfer window expenditure.

Christopher spent three years training to become a Chartered Accountant at KPMG, where he worked in Financial Services audit. Following completion of his MBA, Christopher joined Adidas as Internal Controls Manager for the North European business, before moving to the Deloitte Sports Business Group where he spent three and a half years working at the forefront of the football industry.
Christopher has also provided some independent consultancy work with a specific focus on benchmarking the finances of women’s professional football.
