Dr Mahon-Daly is a Social Scientist with over 20 years’ experience of Leading teams & Teaching in Academia. She has taught a whole range of Social sciences from Sociology, Criminology and Health and Sports related programmes, with a particular focus of Research methods and Ethical practices. Highly experienced in teaching a very wide range of students, and at all academic and foundation levels. Dr Mahon-Daly has experience in supporting and Supervising Doctoral Students and those students undertaking Professional Doctorates, and is a long time Mentor in supporting Academics seeking accreditation in both Advance HE and other professional accreditation areas.
She was awarded both Fellowship and Senior Fellowship of the Higher Education Academy for advanced expertise in pedagogy and was awarded her Doctorate from Brunel University for her research into citizenship, risk and the body
Dr Mahon-Daly is a fully qualified and active personal trainer who has a long standing interest in health and fitness, and brings an innovative approach to research in sport and fitness, by joining together her passions for both academia and teaching excellence to the study of sport and the Sports Industry. She has worked with the key providers in Personal training and she is Spinning instructor and is a Level 4 nutrition coach.

Dr Mahon-Daly has a large external network and contacts as a result of her long-standing experience in Higher Education connecting with for example, FARE network and Sports Discrimination Conferences, and these influence her teaching and employability focus in her work at UCFB.
She has worked with major leisure industry providers’ e.g. GLL to embed occupational standards into academic programmes, and is active in academic projects in relationship to Racism in Football for example. Dr Mahon-Daly works is an External Examiner and a Consultant in Academic and Course validation document reviewer for other Universities and a member of the BSA Donation Research group.
She regularly presents at national conferences and is research active. Current projects include Fans as Citizens, and Research methods pedagogy, and she has previously published her doctoral thesis, and presented at the flagship Advance HE annual Excellence in Teaching and Learning conference in both 2019/2022, serves as a reviewer for academic journals and most recently was selected to present her innovative feedforward pedagogy in research methods teaching design.
