BSc (Hons) Psychology of Sport, Exercise and Performance

Dr Marie Winter is a Senior Lecturer in Sport, Exercise, and Performance Psychology at the University Campus of Football Business, Wembley Stadium, UK. Marie has a PhD in Sport and Exercise Psychology, and a First Class BSc (Hons) degree in Sport and Exercise Science, including a year abroad in Melbourne, AUS, both from the University of Essex, UK. Her research specialism is evidence-informed decision-making in applied psychology. She has developed a model for making evidence-informed decisions in applied sport psychology specifically, but is working to apply this model across other applied domains (e.g., buisness, tacitcal settings, performing arts).

Additionally, Marie is using her research to improve the service delivery competence of trainee mental performance consultants within the US and UK by implementing innovative constructivist learning approaches and building communities of pratice to develop mentor-mentee relationships. Marie sits on the AASP Science to Practice Committee and is a qualified Athlete Personal Development and Lifestyle Advisor. The majority of Marie’s applied experiences come from sport, and she has 12 years’ experience of coaching competitive diving at an elite level. Marie also has a big interest in classical music, having played the violin and sung with the Royal Choral Society at the Royal Albert Hall.
