UCFB has partnered with CRM Students at Grand Felda House to offer UCFB Wembley students vibrant, safe and centrally-located student accommodation in the heart of Wembley.

Newly built in 2016, Grand Felda House has it all. Each room comes fully furnished and all students receive a free gym and swim membership with the Better gym located on the ground floor. Grand Felda House is in a prime location and just a few minutes’ walk away from the UCFB Wembley campus. Wembley Park underground station is just a five-minute walk and then a short ride to London’s bustling centre. All students benefit from Wi-Fi throughout, on-site laundry, a games room, cinema room, a communal lounge with a flat screen TV, great communal facilities and on-site maintenance and management.

We help all full-time registered 1st year students with accommodation in our nominated partner halls of residence. At our student accommodation site a pastoral team encourage a safe, secure and happy living environment and provide discreet support for students when they need help.

Rooms

You can choose from a number of different room types at Grand Felda House:

Bronze studio – £206 per week, 42 weeks – SOLD OUT
Located between the first and eighth floor, this accommodation features a modern kitchenette, a small double storage bed and your own private bathroom.

Bronze en-suite – £196 per week, 42 weeks
Located between the first and eighth floor, this accommodation features a shared kitchen/diner area shared between five students, a small double storage bed and your own private en-suite bathroom.

Silver en-suite – £200 per week, 42 weeks
Located between the ninth and 15th floor, this accommodation features a shared kitchen/diner area shared between five students, a small double storage bed and your own private en-suite bathroom.

Gold en-suite – £205 per week, 42 weeks - SOLD OUT
Located between the 16th and 17th floor, this accommodation features a shared kitchen/diner area shared between five students, a small double storage bed and your own private en-suite bathroom.

 

Payments

Deposits
Grand Felda House require a £150 booking fee, this is payable upon booking. Booking fees are non-refundable after a 14-day cooling off period. Booking fees will then be held until the end of the tenancy as a damage deposit.

Accommodation payment dates
* Term 1 rent for 4 weeks due on 28th August 2019
Term 2 rent for 13 weeks due on 25th September 2019
Term 3 rent for 17 weeks due on 8th January 2020
Term 4 rent for 8 weeks due on 8th April 2020

*Please note – term 1 rent payment must be made before you can move into Grand Felda House and if you are receiving a bursary from UCFB please remember bursary payments are ONLY made once you have enrolled to UCFB in September 2019 and not before.

Funding
Applicants eligible to apply for a student maintenance loan can apply to receive up to £11,354 towards their cost of living and accommodation, please visit here for an approximate indication of how much you might receive.

In addition, applicants with a household income of less than £40,000 can also apply for a means tested bursary to be paid direct towards any of the above rooms. The typical price for students with a means tested bursary is also shown above. Please visit the UCFB Scholarships & Bursaries page for more information on this scheme.

UCFB Wembley accommodation bursaries are only available to students who book with our partnered accommodation and within our nominated rooms. If you apply to live with our partnered accommodation and choose a non-nominated room you will not be eligible for an accommodation bursary.

Disabled Students

Accessible rooms can be made available on application, and we can allocate ground floor rooms to students with limited mobility.

Please ensure that within your application that you mention any medical or other condition which need to be taken into account in the allocation of your accommodation. Such requirements should be indicated on your application form, accompanied by written confirmation from a medical practitioner or other professional body, so that we can allocate rooms accordingly. All information provided will be treated confidentially.

If we are not provided with all relevant information at the time of application, we may not be able to change your allocation at a later date. There is no guarantee that suitable facilities will be available. Please make sure you mention anything that may have a bearing on your health and safety or the health and safety of those living around you.

Wembley accommodation FAQs
Is UCFB Wembley accommodation catered?

Hall of residence around Wembley are self-catered, with excellent facilities for students to cook to their own taste in modern flats.

A large number of restaurants and cafes surround the Wembley area, with the London Designer Outlet in particular hosting dozens of eateries, including many popular chains for different tastes.

Supermarkets are within walking distance of Wembley and include a large 24 hour Asda, Tesco, Sainsbury and Lidl, not to mention many more family-run convenience stores.

Do students stay in halls for a number of years?

First year students are given priority over rooms in halls, but opportunities for second and third year students are available upon request.

How do I apply?

If I’m holding an offer from UCFB as my insurance choice, should I still make an application for accommodation?

Yes. Please let us know that you are holding an offer as your insurance choice and then we can process your application without delay as soon as you accept a place.

Do I need to pay an application fee/deposit?

A booking fee of £150 must be paid up front, followed by an initial rent payment on Wednesday 28th August 2019. The booking fee will be transferred to a deposit once you take occupancy of the accommodation.

This will then be held until the end of the tenancy as a damage deposit. Should you wish to cancel your accommodation request, the accommodation has a 14-day cancellation period in which you will be able to get the £150 refunded. After the 14 days, the £150 booking fee is non-refundable. All rooms are offered on the understanding that you will stay and pay for the room for the entire occupancy period as stated on the Residency Agreement.

If you do not get the required grades to attend UCFB, the notification to cancel your accommodation booking must be done in writing (emails are accepted) and UCFB will confirm this to the accommodation. You will then be able to be released from the tenancy. If you are cancelling your room for any other reason, you are still liable for the full occupancy, but can locate a replacement tenant. The accommodation will also be able to assist with this.

Is the accommodation deposit refundable if I don’t end up attending UCFB?

Grand Felda operates a 14-day cancellation period in which you will be able to get the full £150 refunded.

After the 14 days, the £150 booking fee is non-refundable in any situation. If you do not get the required grades to attend UCFB the notification to cancel your accommodation booking must be done in writing (emails are accepted) and UCFB will confirm this to the accommodation.

How do I arrange a tour of the accommodation?

How many weeks of the year will I be liable for?

Contracts generally run for 42 weeks, and you are liable for the duration of your contract.

Who do I need to tell if I have a disability that affects the type of accommodation I require?

In the first instance you will need to tell our Student Recruitment & Admissions Office on 03332417333 or via email at accommodationwembley@ucfb.com.

Arrangements can be made where possible to accommodate individual requests from students that are disability related. Our Student Services team will work closely with you to find the best solution possible regarding your accommodation.

Do I need to let UCFB know if I will be living at home?

No, this is not required and you can disregard any information you receive on UCFB accommodation.

What if I do not wish to live in halls of residence?

UCFB halls of residence are offered for the full academic year and we encourage you towards this option. However, renting private accommodation is also an option for some students, such as students with families.

What happens if I defer my place at UCFB?

If you defer your place before making any accommodation bookings, please disregard any information you receive on accommodation for the current academic year. We will send you the information again for your deferred place at the appropriate time.

If you defer your place after you make the accommodation booking, then you must abide by the accommodation cancellation policy.

When I receive my exam results do I need to inform UCFB that I am definitely taking up my place?

No. Your application for accommodation will immediately begin to be processed as soon as UCFB is informed by the academic registry at our validating partners that you have an Unconditional Firm (UF) place with UCFB.

I haven’t received information about accommodation yet. What should I do?

You should have received accommodation information by the end of April. If you are a late applicant to UCFB you may receive accommodation information at a later stage.

Can I be released from my Residence Agreement to move into private student housing mid-semester or to return to live at home?

Unfortunately this is not usually possible. You will have accepted a contractually binding Residence Agreement for the entire academic session.

If my son/daughter opts to commute but partway through the first term decides they would prefer to move into accommodation, would it be too late?
