If you love football, there’s no better tournament to get stuck into than the FIFA World Cup. Three games each day, the atmospheres, the vibrant colours, the host nations putting on a show; to go to one of these tournaments is every football fan’s dream. Well, imagine going to six!
Yes, that’s right, UCFB BA (Hons) Multimedia Sports Journalism lecturer, Tom Skippings, has covered a staggering six World Cups over the years, including tournaments in Asia, Africa, South America and Europe.
We caught up with him to discuss what it’s like working at these global tournaments, how the sports journalism landscape has changed and any advice for our students wanting to work in the world of sports media.
