A Third Year student has been talking about his experience applying to UCFB through Clearing, as many more prospective students do the same this summer.
Connor Booth earned his spot on UCFB’s undergraduate degree course in BA (Hons) Multimedia Sports Journalism via Clearing, and now works as a social media assistant at Arsenal, as well as a commentator at Dulwich Hamlet FC.
Clearing allows university applicants without offers to find a new university after the initial application process.
After being lined up to study History at a Russell Group university, Connor’s parents could see that was not where his passion lay, and encouraged him to go through Clearing to UCFB.
When asked if he’d recommend people to go through Clearing to find their spot at university, Connor said: “Absolutely I would recommend it.”
“You’re doing a three-year degree, it should be something you enjoy! The clearing process really isn’t difficult.”
He added, speaking about his three years studying at UCFB: “As much as I’ve loved the degree itself, the experiences and opportunities I’ve had as a result of being a UCFB student have literally been life-changing.
“My roles at Arsenal and Dulwich both came about because of connections I’ve made at UCFB.”
He finished by offering advice to those going through the UCAS Clearing process this summer: “Try not to overthink it; going through clearing is a perfectly normal thing to do.
“On your first day at university, nobody cares if you’ve known that it’s what you wanted to do all your life or if you decided to change at the last minute, so make sure you’re doing something you’ll enjoy!”
