Some of our Wembley Campus students have just come back from a week of working in the United States, after gaining much experience with a Major League Baseball franchise.
The students travelled from London to Maryland, where they spent some time working with the Baltimore Orioles, in many departments across the franchise.
This included shadowing teams including ticketing, authentics, corporate sale, press relations and the content team.
One of the students who applied for the opportunity on JobTeaser was George Morrison, a BA (Hons) International Football Business student.
He said: “We were able to watch six games during our time there. The first we attended as fans in which our tickets were given to us by the orioles.
“The other five we watched with the different departments to see what they do during the game.
“For example, when with corporate, we watched the game in their box and was shown how they interacted with customers. Another example was press relations and how they watched the game and had to write up notes to supply the media attending the game afterwards.”
He added: “The main thing I will take away from the week is that it was a week full of learning, but also making many great industry connections which I will definitely use as I grow through the sporting industry.
“My time so far at UCFB has been incredible. Being able to study at the home of English football is incredible, all the lecturers have so much experience working within the industry and it helps to hear their stories and advice.
“Get yourself out there, try and get as much experience and connections as possible but be open to trying new things, don’t just focus on one area but be open to different departments.”
