Students get fantastic start to year with 2023 Miami Summit

A group of UCFB students and alumni enjoyed a week in Florida last month, as they embarked on the 2023 Miami Summit.

The summit was held between January 23 and January 29, at the DRV PNK Stadium in Miami, home of Inter Miami CF.

The students were able to listen to lectures and network with professionals on all avenues of the football and wider sports industry.

Inter Miami coach Darren Powell, sports lawyer Enric Ripoll and Miami’s 2026 World Cup liaison Christopher Corey were just some of the guest speakers attending the summit.

Darren Powell treated some of the coaching students to behind-the-scenes access and to watch a session at the training ground.

During the week-long event, visitors enjoyed watching live sport games including Miami Heat basketball team and Florida Panthers at ice hockey.

Our students must have been a good luck charm, with both teams winning all games we attended during our trip to the Sunshine State.

They also enjoyed a tour of the Hard Rock Stadium, home to the Miami Dolphins before flying back.

It was a fantastic way to start 2023, with students gaining invaluable experience and connecting with many professionals in the sport industry.
