UCFB’s Female Coaching Society hosted a panel and networking event for students and prospective students to learn more about the sports industry.
The event, where attendees listened to students and alumni about life at UCFB, was held at UCFB Wembley and also included a Q&A session.
UCFB’s Female Coaching Society has been running for the last three years, with its aim to create a community within the coaching degrees to support the female students with events, mentoring and any extra support.
BA (Hons) Football Coaching and Management student Chelsea Pope is this year’s president of the society.
“It’s been a really empowering evening,” she said, “getting everyone together. The main aim is to keep increasing the number of females working within the industry. Seeing them here was really empowering.
“The more events we can do like this, the more people you meet, the bigger your support network. It’s always important to have people you can talk to, lean on and trust, but also just to inspire everyone.
“Everyone has a different story, and hearing everyone’s story is so inspiring, because you never know what could help someone else.”
In the summer of 2024, the society was opened out to the wider UCFB female community.
Darren Smith, course leader for BA (Hons) Football Coaching and Management said: “It’s been great seeing students from other degrees get involved and attend.”
