Multiple UCFB students were recently invited to gain sports industry experience at the annual London Football Awards, working in the ceremony’s media departments.
Four students got the opportunity to attend the awards after applying through UCFB JobTeaser, working on the media side of the ceremony.
On the red carpet, the select few were able to converse with legends of the game including David Seaman, Ledley King and Roy Hodgson.
Preparing posts and graphics, the students worked mainly on the awards’ social media channels.

Some of the students involved included Redford Elton and Baily Shorter.
Redford was responsible for managing the London Football Awards’ X account, announcing winners throughout the night.
“It was nice to see that the posts received a lot of love and traction as well,” Redford said. “The day started at 4pm and I left the awards just after 11pm, and it was a brilliant night.”
He added: “At the beginning of the event, I did not want to disturb any of the professionals. However, in actual fact, by the end of the night I was laughing with them because they want to talk just as much as you do.
“You just have to have the nerve to start a conversation and almost always they are happy to hear you out with interest.
“I will also take away a deeper understanding of the work and manpower that goes into the award ceremonies, even the unseen behind the scenes interviews, everyone is busy constantly.”
