UCFB graduate’s top tips to become a successful football coach

UCFB graduate Hilaal Ali has given us her top three tips for becoming a successful football coach.

Hilaal, who studied BA (Hons) Football Coaching and Management, now works as a coach at the Liverpool FC Foundation.

She recently returned to UCFB Manchester to talk to current students at the Raise Your Game Event held alongside industry partners Kick It Out.

  1. Always back yourself

You have to be confident within yourself and you’ve got to make sure that you set the example you want from your players.

  • Be passionate and enthusiastic

If you are not brining enthusiasm to your training sessions, your players are going to be down. So it’s down to you to create that atmosphere.

  • Enjoy the journey

Whether it’s up or down, enjoy the rollercoaster and do the best that you can.

UCFB’s undergraduate courses allow students to take that first step towards their dream career in sport, whether media, coaching, business or any other field.

Take a look at where our other graduates are working across the global football and wider sports industry.
