One of UCFB’s postgraduate students has been talking about the benefits of gaining a scholarship.
Alexander Hunt, who is studying MSc International Sport Management, has been accepted to receive the president’s scholarship during his time at UCFB.
As part of the scholarship, as well as financial assistance, Alexander will receive mentorship and the opportunity to travel overseas and learn more about the sports industry on a global level.
Speaking about the scholarship, Alexander said: “My favourite part of the scholarship is how it has allowed me to gain international insight into the sports industry in the UK and beyond. This opportunity has facilitated opportunities to meet like-minded students and industry professionals with a plethora of experience.
He added: “Not only did the scholarship alleviate some of the financial burdens of postgraduate education, but it also facilitated learning opportunities outside of the classroom.
“Having a mentor who is so well-versed, experienced, and connected in the industry has helped me develop a focus on my career path and entry into the industry.”
Alexander then finished offering advice for postgraduate students at UCFB.
“Apply for a scholarship regardless,” he said. “A misconception I had when joining was that I didn’t have enough experience, or the profile required for a scholarship.
“After looking at the scholarships, I took a leap and applied for one I thought I might fit because it represented an amazing opportunity to add to the unique in-class learning and development at UCFB.”
