From the 2021/22 academic year, University Campus of Football Business (UCFB) and Global Institute of Sport (GIS) are colleges of the University of East London (UEL). All graduates that begin their degrees with UCFB or GIS from 2021/22 onwards will receive a degree from UEL.

Launched in October 2020, the academic partnership draws on UEL’s global sports proposition, aligning with the expertise and academic remit of UCFB and GIS. Each institution has a strategic focus on graduate careers and distinctive industry links that set them apart.

UEL are a forward-thinking, careers-led university with a clear objective on ensuring graduates are industry-ready. Their goal as part of their Vision 2028 strategy is to become the leading careers-focussed, enterprising university in the UK through a transformation of curriculum, pedagogy, research impact and partnerships to make a positive difference to student, graduate and community success. This focus is perfectly aligned to our own.

UEL have achieved the following recent rankings:

  • Top 50 UK institutions for sports programmes in the Complete University Guide Rankings 2021;
  • Top 250 world institutions in the Times Higher Education Young University Rankings 2021;
  • Top 200 world institutions in the Times Higher Education Impact Rankings 2021;
  • Top 25% of universities globally for international outlook in the Times Higher Education World Rankings 2021

UEL’s strong international reputation will also be a huge benefit to UCFB and GIS students alongside the recently announced global study hubs in North America and Australia.
