This degree will give you a firm understanding as to how finance affects organisational performance at all levels, with modules that cover the fundamentals of accounting and financial management in a football business context.

Degree content

Your studies will focus on the core functions of football business management and will be supplemented by the financial pathway, whose modules introduce you to the principles of financial accounting, management accounting and require you to integrate theory with practice.

The degree programme integrates the core functions of business management with financial accounting in the context of football and sport organisations and governing bodies. The degree monitors the intense media coverage of contemporary football issues to apply relevant themes to enhance the student learning experience.

You will be taught in lectures and participate in seminar debates, with support from UCFB’s virtual learning environment to fully encompass the academic experience.

Advanced entry

We accept applications with advanced standing via our Advanced Prior Learning (APL) application process. Should you wish to apply for direct entry into Year 2 or Year 3 of one of our undergraduate degree programmes, you will be required to complete an APL application form and provide us with evidence of your previous studies.

Career prospects

Career prospects for graduates of the BA (Hons) Football Business & Finance degree programme at UCFB include financial and accounting roles or operational roles within football, including the ability to rise to senior managerial roles due to the management aspect of the degree.

Additional costs

The provision of a facility or service including accommodation may be subject to an additional charge (i.e. separate from tuition fees). Where this is the case, we will make this clear in advance and payment for such service shall be made in accordance with any additional contract made between you and the University.

In some instances, optional activities provided by UCFB may carry an additional cost for participants (e.g. qualifications with external certification such as FA Coaching Badges). Any additional costs will be provided to students in advance of any such sessions running.

Student are expected to be in possession of an approved scientific calculator throughout their degree. Costs for these range from £5 to £50.
