Richard Clarke

Course Leader, MSc Sports Marketing and Media

Richard Clarke is a content, communications, social media, digital and marketing expert with unique, global experience in the sports industry. He was responsible for editorial strategy across all media (digital, social, TV and print etc) at Arsenal FC from 2002 to 2015 before moving to Major League Soccer to run the content and communications departments for Colorado Rapids. Since returning to England, he has consulted in areas such as content, digital, CRM, digital marketing and overseas strategy for the Premier League, Bundesliga, UEFA, USA Swimming, EVOS esports and Dugout. Richard enjoyed a two-year spell as consultant Content Director with the Indonesian Football League where he crossed the country presenting sessions in digital and social media transformation to all the top-flight clubs. He has also worked with the Pro League in the UAE and the Philippines Football Federation on content, marketing and communications strategy. He has lectured on Masters courses in sports content, crisis communications, marketing and CRM at universities around Europe.
