It was a pleasure to welcome Colombian football legend Rene Higuita to our Wembley Campus during the international break.

Former BA (Hons) International Football Business student Julian Perez, who has worked as a football agent since graduating, organised the visit.

It has been 29 years since Rene Higuita produced one of Wembley’s most memorable moments, the scorpion kick save against England in 1995.

Rene was in London, cheering his national side on as they faced Spain at West Ham United’s London Stadium during the international break.

Julian said about the visit: “It was such an amazing experience, working with Colombian legend Rene Higuita and being able to bring him back 29 years after the scorpion kick.

“A big thank you to UCFB and GIS for continuously helping to engage the sports industry.

“As a football agent, having the right networking is a key factor of success, and UCFB is the best place to get knowledge, experience and connections.”
