As a three-time Olympics medallist, Sotherton is one of UK athletics most successful female competitors. After securing bronze in the heptathlon at the 2004 Olympics, Sotherton was eventually awarded the same medal in 2008, as well as a bronze in the 4x400m relay, following revelations of doping from athletes who finished ahead of her.
Sotherton is currently an IAAF Women's Commitee Member and is leading England’s track and field team ahead of the Birmingham 2022 Commonwelath Games.
