Working at the iconic MediaCityUK, graduate Will Hobson is now at BBC Sport working as an Assistant Producer.

Will graduated from UCFB in 2020 with a degree in BA (Hons) Multimedia Sports Journalism and has worked his way up professionally to where he is today.

At BBC Sport, Will’s role includes creating digital content for BBC Sport’s website and social media channels from shows including Match of the Day and Football Focus.

Will said: “It’s great to have BBC Sport on my CV so early on in my career, as the BBC is a massive organisation with a lot of credibility.

“The BBC has so many talented people, so many people to learn from, and you get to work with a lot of high-profile stars on a day-to-day basis.”

When asked about his time at university, Will said: “I really wanted to work within media and sports, and UCFB was the perfect opportunity for that.”

While at UCFB, Will took full advantage of the work placement opportunities with our partners at the National League, to grow his sports media experience alongside his studies.

“Volunteering at clubs like Curzon Ashton gave me the progression that I needed to be where I am today.”

After graduating from UCFB, Will went on to work for YouTube production company Studio 68, working with Manchester United fan channels and former England captain Rio Ferdinand.

He worked there for two years before he applied and was successful for his current role at BBC Sport.
