Russell has over 25 years’ experience of teaching higher education at all levels, with his prime focus on marketing and business and a clear focus on the use of technology in the teaching environment and beyond. Has written and developed several degree programmes including masters level at UCFB.
He has played under World Cup winner Jack Charlton, coached football across England, South Africa and Asia, and travelled extensively to enable contextual global marketing delivery to undergraduates. Russell worked as a marketer in the industry before moving into teaching. He has spent two years living and working in Vietnam in the last decade.
More recently, he is to present at the 2020 Global Branding conference, now delayed to 2022. The context is branding in football and individual influence. A paper written in partnership with colleague Cecilia Diaz.
