Students from both Wembley and Etihad campuses are looking forward to the Varsity fixture between both men’s and women’s teams from each campus this week.

The fixtures are to be played this Wednesday, March 29, at Silver Jubilee Park, London, NW9 7RD.

The first match will be Wembley Women’s Team v Etihad Women’s Team, which will kick off at 1pm, before the Men’s fixture starts at 3pm.

Christie Scanlon, a BA (Hons) Football Coaching and Management, BA (Hons) Physical Education and BA (Hons) Sports Business and Coaching lecturer, is looking forward to the event.

The Etihad-based lecturer said: “I’m absolutely thrilled that this competition is happening. It’s exciting for both Wembley and Etihad staff and players, and I’m very excited

“It’s something that should have happened a long time ago. Hopefully, the Etihad teams can win.”

Christie’s score prediction was 3-0 to the Etihad Men’s Team and 4-2 to the Etihad Women’s Team.

However, confidence is also stirring down south.

Daniel Bedeau, UCFB Wembley’s performance analyst technician, is cheering on the Wembley Campus sides, and is sure they will bring victory.

He said: “I've worked closely with the players and staff this season and I know what they are capable of doing.

“If they play to their high standards, I don't see any team beating us.”
