Students, staff and alumni have been telling us what they love most about Manchester, and why it’s one of the best cities to be a student in.

With Manchester being one of UCFB’s homes since we moved to the Etihad Campus in 2016, thousands of our students have been coming to Manchester to learn with us for seven years.

And in that time, our students and alumni have taken to the city, its people, music and much more which they have fallen in love with.

Many spoke about the nightlife of the city, such as the wide range of areas for people to enjoy at all hours, such as the Northern Quarter, Gay Village and Deansgate Locks.

Unsurprisingly, most of the people asked listed sport as their top reasoning for loving Manchester.

In addition to the city’s big two Premier League sides, students also loved the region for the easy access to lower league football, with clubs such as Bolton Wanderers, Wigan Athletic and Stockport County on their doorstep.

Greater Manchester’s non-league scene is also one the students admire, with Oldham Athletic, Altrincham and Curzon Ashton nearby, where many students have been on work placements before.

As well as football, student said there’s something for fans of all sports in Manchester, such as Lancashire Cricket, Sale Sharks, Salford Red Devils, Manchester Storm, Manchester Giants and Manchester Thunder.
