Everyone at UCFB is incredibly proud to announce the year-on-year improvements we have made across the board regarding the 2023 results of the National Student Survey.

The survey looks deep into the running of all universities across the UK, with UCFB showing a fantastic growth in positivity scores.

UCFB is also ahead of the national average of positivity scores in several areas.

Our overall positivity measure result rose by more than seven per cent compared to the 2022 figures, averaging all questions in this year's National Student Survey.

This overall positivity measure is based off the answers our students give on the survey around a number of topics, ranging from services and support to opportunities and the courses themselves.

This included our best performing area, which was ‘How good are teaching staff at explaining things’ which had an approval rating of more than 91 per cent.

UCFB also scored well in other areas, earning higher positivity scores than the national average in:

  • Learning Opportunities
  • Assessment and Feedback
  • Academic Support
  • Organisation and Management

Some of our biggest improvements, compared to 2022, included:

  • Student Union (increase of 21.3 percentage points)
  • Learning Resources (increase of 9.3 percentage points)
  • Assessment Feedback (increase of 8.8 percentage points)
  • Overall satisfaction rate (increase of 7.1 percentage points)

It was great for us to see that both our UK campuses scored a fantastic increase in positivity rates.

Our Manchester Campus positivity rate grew by 4.7 percentage points, while the positivity rate for our Wembley Campus increased by eight percentage points.

Data from the survey results also included positivity by course. This was also fantastic news for UCFB, with a lot of our courses scoring high and making vast improvements since 2022.

Our BA (Hons) Physical Education course recorded a satisfaction rate of more than 99 per cent. Meanwhile, our BA (Hons) Sports Business and Sports Broadcasting scored 93.2 per cent.

Some of the highest increases by course between 2022 and 2023 were:

The data also showed that ten of our undergraduate degree courses made ‘significant improvements’ from the results of 2022.
