What is a scholarship?

What is a scholarship?

What is a scholarship?

A scholarship is defined as ‘a grant or payment made to support a student’s education, awarded on the basis of academic or other achievement.’

These achievements, particularly for UCFB scholarships, could range from sporting achievements to leadership qualities.

What are the benefits?

Scholarships allow students to save money for their studies, while getting their foot into the door of an industry they wish to work in.

The first thought for most people is that the main benefit of receiving a scholarship is financial gain, whether that be the course paid for in full or only partially.

While this is true, it is only one of the main advantages to applying for a scholarship at GIS.

Other benefits include:

  • Trips on one of our global summits, including Miami and New York City
  • Mentorship during the Master’s programme with leaders in the sport industry
  • Placements and work experience at one or multiple of our experience partners

Who can apply for a scholarship?

Anybody is able to apply for a scholarship, but excelling in the specific field of the particular scholarship is a necessity to be in with a chance of receiving it, as they are highly competitive with few awarded out each year.

How do I apply for a scholarship?

You apply for scholarships after you apply to join a higher education institution. Once you are holding an offer for a course, you then go onto the organisation’s website and apply for their scholarship you believe you are right for.

What scholarships are available at UCFB?

Scholarship applications are opening imminently.

Scholarships available include:

  • Elite Athlete Scholarship
  • Global Leadership Scholarship
  • Women in Sport Scholarship
