Adam is a highly experienced sports economist and management consultant with specialisms in football finance, club development and strategy management.

Adam is a sports consultant working with many clients across the EFL and Europe having worked in 7 different sports in 9 different countries including roles for several clubs as a scout and analyst for Exeter City, Sheffield United and SonderjskE in Denmark. Prior to joining UCFB, Adam was a researcher at Sheffield Hallam University and was a lead on the groundbreaking research investigating the true extent Covid-19 had on English and Scottish football.

Adam is also Head of financial research at Fair Game, the not-for-profit focused on improving the financial health of English football. Much of his work with Fair Game has fed into the implementation of the Government’s upcoming independent football regulator.

Adam has also written academic publications on competitive balance in sport and sports finance.

Teaching & research interests

Adam likes to investigate sport’s greatest business obstacles with a holistic approach and that is fundamental to his teaching style. His research specialisms are in competitive balance and sports economics. Due to the extensive parallels between football business challenges and other sports, his research interests extend to investigating all team sports, most notably Rugby Union.

Alongside his role at UCFB, Adam is the director of Davis Sports Management, a sports research consultancy. DSM has worked in 7 different sports in 9 different countries. Notable former and current clients include Statsbomb, MRKT Insights, several EFL and National league clubs and Formula 1. Adam has also worked for several clubs as a scout and analyst including Exeter City, Sheffield United and SonderjskE in Denmark.
