Global Institute of Sport (GIS) are delighted to announce the launch of The Inclusive Leadership in Football Award (TILIFA), delivered in partnership with equality and inclusion organisation Kick it Out.

Designed for current and aspiring sports professionals, the course furthers learners’ knowledge and expertise of this hugely important, and ever-expanding, area within the football industry. Covering a broad range of issues related to equality, diversity and inclusion (EDI), it has become a crucial tool in ensuring the game’s stakeholders take their responsibilities seriously.

The course is delivered online and consists of 20 hours of micro-lectures, tasks and quizzes, spanning across five modules: football and society, core concepts, law and policy, words and behaviours and leading change. A final project will also be completed, ensuring a comprehensive understanding of EDI in sport.

Dr. Richard Elliott, Head of Professional Education at GIS, said: “I’m delighted that we’re launching The Inclusive Leadership in Football Award at GIS. Co-developed and delivered in conjunction with our good friends at Kick It Out, the course is a vital tool in supporting existing and aspiring football industry professionals to take their equality responsibilities seriously, and push for lasting change in the game.”

CEO of Kick it Out, Tony Burnett, added: “Kick It Out are delighted to be partnering with Global Institute of Sport to deliver The Inclusive Leadership in Football Award. Carefully planned and comprehensive in scope, this course will nurture and develop individuals who can really lead positive change in football and beyond. It is through initiatives like this that we hope to inspire a new generation of leaders in the sport, helping to create an equal and inclusive game for all.”
