Students from UCFB and the Global Institute of Sport are looking forward to the second global sports summit to Miami of 2024!
The week-long trip will see the students networking with sports industry professionals, going to live sports fixtures and embracing the Miami culture.
The summit will be based at the Chase Stadium, home of MLS side Inter Miami CF and the GIS Miami Campus.
During the summit, students will be taken on behind-the-scenes tours of some of Florida’s most incredible stadia, including:
- The Chase Stadium and Florida Blue Training Center
- FLA Live Arena (home to the Florida Panthers)
- Miami Open Tennis Championships
Students will also be able to immerse themselves into the North American sporting culture, attending live sporting events from four different sports.
The matches that are included as part of the upcoming summit are:
- Miami Open Tennis Championships
- Florida Panthers v New York Islanders at FLA Live Arena (NHL)
- Miami Heat v Portland Trail Blazers at Kaseya Center (NBA)
- Inter Miami v New York City FC at The Chase Stadium (MLS)
However, the main aspect of the global sports summits remains to be the incredible opportunities for students to grow their network and listen to incredible guest speakers from the North American sports industry.
Just some of these guest speaker sessions will be with:
- Ben Silver – director of partnership development at Inter Miami CF
- Josh Lewin – sports broadcaster at UCLA Bruins
- Stefano Fanfoni – professor at Touro University and former professional footballer
- Enoch Showumni – director of Naples FC
Coaching students will also be able to go to the Inter Miami training ground and watch a training session with the U19s, before a guest speaker session with U19s head coach Giuseppe de Palo.
