UCFB is proud to be celebrating International Women’s Day 2024, in a very successful year for female involvement in sport and women’s sport as a whole.

We’ve seen more women than ever applying to UCFB. Our academic team and wide array of degree courses on offer to help them score their dream career goals in the sports industry.

There has been a 36 per cent increase in applications from female students in the last year, and a 28 per cent increase in female enrolments.

Alongside this, on our sports media-related degree courses, the number of female enrolments has almost doubled in the last year.

This increase can also be seen at UCFB’s Global Institute of Sport, which has had a 43 per cent increase in female applications and a 24 per cent increase in female enrolments.

UCFB has also offered our students the opportunity to listen to some inspirational female guest speakers from across the sports industry, including:

  • Clare Tomlinson – Sky Sports Presenter
  • Kelly Smith MBE – Lionesses Legend
  • Natalie Sawyer – talkSPORT Presenter

On the pitch, we’ve seen England’s Lionesses reach their first World Cup Final in Australia and New Zealand, a tournament many UCFB students were fortunate enough to visit on the GIS Melbourne Global Sports Summit.

UCFB has also introduced multiple scholarships to promote female involvement across the sports industry, including the She Can Coach Scholarship and the Women in Sport Scholarship.
