Global Institute of Sport (GIS), the postgraduate arm of UCFB, are delighted to reveal that 98% of 2021 alumni are either employed or in full-time study six to nine months after completing their degrees (GIS internal Graduate Occupations Survey).

96% of these are in highly skilled jobs, and 69% are working or studying within sport, which is far higher than the sports graduate average. With the industry demonstrating a resilient fightback from the setbacks of COVID-19, the future looks bright for sport, with the number of jobs projected to grow 13% over the next decade.

An unprecedented percentage of these roles are expected to be filled by women, who continue to carve out their space in this traditionally male sector. England’s historic success in the Women’s Euro’s, the country’s national sport, is acting as a catalyst for the growth in funding, sponsorship and widespread interest in the game.

Since 2020, GIS have seen a 123% growth in female students, mirroring the (less accentuated) rise in the industry itself. The MSc Football Communications & Digital Marketing programme is proving a particular favourite, with modules including Football Fan Engagement, Digital Marketing and Multimedia Football Journalism, and the chance to complete a Research Project of your choice.

GIS are the leading destination for Master’s degrees in football and sport, with campuses in London, Manchester and Miami, and global hubs in New York, Atlanta, Toronto and Melbourne. From media and marketing to coaching and management, our pioneering programmes enable you to propel your career in any sector of sport.
