A Second Year coaching student at UCFB has ventured out to gain experience alongside his studies, and has got himself a role coaching at the Chelsea FC Foundation.
Cameron Marshall, a BA (Hons) Football Coaching and Management student, has been in the role at Chelsea for two months, and is already making great strides.
He is one of the lead coaches at the foundation’s development and advanced centres, coaching young players and aiming to develop them and progress into the Chelsea FC Academy.
Cameron said: “I’m very pleased to be in the position I am now at 20 years old. This position is something that I’ve aspired to be in for months now and I’m grateful to the people who have helped me get here.”
Already during his time at UCFB, Cameron has worked at Kixx, Titans Football Academy and Hashtag United in coaching and analysis roles.
As well as developing young aspirational footballers, Cameron is also keen to develop himself as a coach, planning on growing his own coaching business, managing within the 11-a-side game and gaining more UEFA qualifications.
He also spoke about how important it is to take all opportunities which present themselves.
He said: “So far I’m enjoying my time here at UCFB, I’ve made some great friends, been fortunate enough to have been taught by some incredible lecturers and I’m looking forward to my third year and even more opportunities to develop.
“Gain as much experience as possible at all levels of the game, have an open mind to learning and improving and take time to watch and read coaching content and to be brave and put it into practice when you can.”
