Following the completion of your studies, you can look forward to a memorable day with peers and academics as you celebrate your success, with a formal graduation and awards ceremony to recognise individual student achievements throughout your time at UCFB and GIS.

Before the day
What date is my graduation ceremony and which ceremony am I in?

UCFB and GIS Graduation - Wembley Campus - Ceremony 1

Wednesday 11th December 2024 

Ceremony 1 features the following programmes:

  • BA (Hons) Football Business & Finance  
  • BA (Hons) Football Business & Marketing    
  • BA (Hons) Football Business & Media 
  • BA (Hons) International Football Business 
  • BA (Hons) Multimedia Sports Journalism  
  • BA (Hons) Sports Business & Sports Broadcasting   

Ceremony 1 is scheduled from approximately 9:30am to 3:30pm. A final schedule detailing your arrival time and order of events for Ceremony 1 will be communicated closer to the graduation event date.

UCFB and GIS Graduation - Wembley Campus - Ceremony 2

Wednesday 11th December 2024

Ceremony 2 features the following programmes:

Ceremony 2 is scheduled from approximately 12.30pm to 6.30pm. A final schedule detailing your arrival time and order of events for Ceremony 2 will be communicated closer to the graduation event date.

Eligibility

If you think you are eligible to graduate and have not received your invitation please contact the graduation team on graduation@ucfb.ac.uk.

Please note your eligibility to attend graduation is subject to you completing your studies and having your award approved at your relevant exam board before your graduation date. 

We recommend that you to book your place now even if you are unsure if you will be able to graduate. If for any reason, you are not eligible to graduate, we will be in touch with you and your place may be cancelled.

Confirm whether or not you wish to attend

You will receive an invitation with your graduation information via email to your UCFB or GIS email account, as well as your personal account. Please follow the link provided within the email to register if you are planning to attend your graduation ceremony.

Please note, that each degree programme is allocated a specific ceremony, so it is important to select the correct degree programme and ceremony when completing your booking.

If you have not received your graduation invitation please email graduation@ucfb.ac.uk for support.

If you are unable to attend your graduation ceremony and wish to graduate ‘In Absentia’, please advise us by completing the following form: UCFB and GIS Graduation - ‘In Absentia’ Form

Guest Ticketing Policy

Each UCFB and GIS graduate can book up to two guest tickets for their graduation ceremony. Please ensure you fill out your full guest names and email when completing your booking.

Electronic tickets will be issued to the email provided by each graduate time of booking. Electronic tickets are to be presented on the day of Graduation to gain access to the event. Physical tickets will not be issued. You do not need to print your electronic tickets.

All graduates and their guests must present photo ID along with their electronic ticket in order to gain access to the stadium. The names of the guests arriving on the day must match those on your booking.

Keep us informed of any changes to your guest names, by emailing graduation@ucfb.ac.uk.

Extra guest ticket requests will not be accepted, and there is no available waiting list. Guest tickets are non-transferable. If additional guest tickets do become available after the graduation booking period, all graduates will be notified in August - September 2024. Information on how to book additional guest tickets will be circulated at that point.

Please note that the demand for Graduation tickets is very high and that we cannot guarantee that additional guest tickets will be available for any ceremony.

Graduation booking confirmation

Once you have completed your booking, you will receive a confirmation email from TicketTailor informing you that your booking has been completed.  

Electronic tickets will be issued to the email provided by each graduate time of booking. Electronic tickets are to be presented on the day of Graduation to gain access to the event. Physical tickets will not be issued. You do not need to print your electronic tickets.

You will need to attend registration before entering the stadium with your guests. All those attending a graduation ceremony (including the graduate) are required to bring photographic ID on the day. 

Please ensure you fill out your full guest names on the booking form & keep us informed of any changes.  

A final schedule detailing your arrival time and order of events for your ceremony will be communicated nearer the graduation date.

Please bear in mind that the stadium is a high-security building, you will need to go through security and bag check which will take a little time. With this in mind, please do not bring large bags and suitcases, as these would need to be opened and checked in full. 

If you arrive late and the doors have closed, you will not be permitted to enter the ceremony. 

Order your academic gown and photography

During the UCFB and GIS Graduation Ceremony you are required to always wear a cap and gown. Anyone not wearing a cap and gown may not be permitted to participate in the graduation ceremony. Ede & Ravenscroft supply this service to all our graduates, and will also supply on-site professional photography, for anyone who wishes to purchase this service. 

All cap and gown orders will be delivered directly to the stadium, you will collect your order upon arrival from Ede & Ravenscroft staff.

Instructions:

For all students graduating on Thursday 25th January at Wembley Stadium, including UG and PG (GIS), please select your institution name as: ‘UCFB Wembley. 

For Award Details: 

UG students:

  • Please select 'Bachelors/1st Degrees – UEL' if your degree programme commenced in the academic year 2021/22.  
  • Please select ‘Bachelors/1st Degrees – Bucks New Bach (all subjects) if your degree programme commenced in the academic year 2020/21 or earlier. 

PG students:

  • Please select Masters Degrees – UEL Master 

Note: Ede & Ravenscroft will provide the gowning and photography service. This service is not provided, nor managed, by UCFB and GIS. All enquiries related to gowning and photography are to be directly sent to Ede & Ravenscroft by contacting +44 (0)1223 734 759 or visiting their website. 

 

Dress code

All Graduates must wear a cap and gown when receiving their award.

It is expected that you will dress appropriately and smartly for the occasion.

For comfort and practicality, we recommend you wear a top or shirt with buttons as it makes it easier to attach the award ‘hood’. Strapless tops/dresses are not suitable. It is advisable to wear smart but comfortable footwear.

Data Protection

Graduation ceremonies are regarded as public events. UCFB and GIS will be taking photographs and recording ceremonies for use in future publications, on the UCFB and GIS’s website and for other marketing materials. In addition, names and degrees, including those graduating in absentia, are published in the graduation programme and on graduation memorabilia.

Any data relating to special access that you share with us to help plan the day is kept in the strictest confidence.

If you object to the publication of your personal data (name and course) in the graduation programme and on graduation memorabilia please contact graduation@ucfb.ac.uk no later than September 2024.

On the day
Professional photographs

The Ede & Ravenscroft photography studios will operate all day and will be signposted within the Stadium on the day. There will also be a photographer on stage taking photos of each graduate as they cross the stage.

Photos can be purchased on the day and there is an option for both individual and family photos to be taken on request. For further information around what pictures will be available click here.

The Ceremony

Graduates will be seated in front of the main stage with guests seated around the outside.

Guests must be within the stadium 30 minutes before the start of the ceremony.

Please note, guests are asked to remain in their seats at the end of the ceremony until the academic and graduate processions have left the room.

Official programmes

Printed programmes will be available at the registration desk. One programme per party member will be available.

Will I require ID?

All attendees, including their guests, will be asked to provide a form of photographic ID, for example a driving licence or passport during the registration process on the day. Bag checks will also be carried out for security reasons.

What time do I need to be there?

How do I get there?

Wembley Stadium is a public transport destination and travel by public transport is advised.

Access from Wembley Park station
As you approach Wembley Stadium along Olympic Way, remain at street level and walk under the pedestrian walkway. Straight in front of you is the Club Wembley main entrance where registration will take place.

Access from Wembley Stadium and Wembley Central stations
From Wembley Central, turn right out of the station and walk down the High Road. Turn left at the triangle, towards Wembley Stadium station. Cross White Horse Bridge and turn left onto Wembley Park Boulevard, and follow the path in front of the London Designer Outlet. Once you reach Wembley Arena on your left, turn right and walk under the pedestrian walkway. The Club Wembley main entrance is at the top of this road.

What should I do if I can’t attend my graduation date?

Please complete the 'Graduating In Absentia' form and the Student Administration Team will arrange for your degree certificate to be posted to you.

If you wish to attend a graduation ceremony in future years, please do get in touch at that time.

My guests have changed, how do I let you know?

If your guest names change, please email graduation@ucfb.ac.uk who will be able to update your booking.

Who do I email if I can’t make it?

If you are not able to attend on the day, please email graduation@ucfb.ac.uk A member of staff will come back to you to arrange postage of your degree certificate in event they have not been sent pre-ceremony.

Will my ceremony be streamed?

We are pleased to inform you that we will be live streaming each graduation ceremony.
