Before the day
Eligibility

If you think you are eligible to graduate in October 2019 and have not received your invitation please contact the graduation team on events@ucfb.com.

You are not eligible to attend your graduation ceremony if:

• You have not been awarded a degree by the Board of Examiners;

• You have an unresolved academic appeal lodged with the Board of Examiners’
decision about your final result or are subject to an investigation for academic misconduct.

You will have to await the outcome of an appeal or investigation before you can attend graduation; this may mean you have to wait until the following year to graduate.

We recommend that you to book your place now even if you are unsure if you will be able to graduate. If for any reason, you are not awarded a degree, we will be in touch with you and your place may be cancelled.

Confirm whether or not you wish to attend

You will receive an invitation via email to your UCFB account with your programme’s graduation date. Please follow the link provided within the email to register if you are planning to attend your graduation ceremony.

Please note, there are two graduation ceremonies taking place so it is important to select the correct degree programme when completing the registration form.

If you are not planning to attend your graduation ceremony, you will still need to confirm this to us via the booking form. Alternatively, please email events@ucfb.com.

If you do not receive your invitation email by Monday 22nd April please email events@ucfb.com

Booking for graduation closes at midnight (11.59pm) on Friday 26th July.

Order your academic gown and photography

All Graduates must wear a cap and gown when receiving their degree certificate. This can be hired from our supplier Ede & Ravenscroft. You can also book your photography in advance to save you time and money on the day.

Your gown will be delivered to the graduation venue before your graduation ceremony begins to provide you with the opportunity to take photos. Please note failure to order your gown could result in you being unable to attend the graduation ceremony.

Guest spaces

When registering your attendance, you will be able to reserve up to two guest places providing you register by Friday 28th July 2019.

Graduation is an exciting and memorable day and so it is very important to us that all of our graduands are given a fair opportunity to reserve their 2 guest places for the ceremony.

Though some students would like more than this allocation, at this time this is not possible. All graduands are given the opportunity to secure up to 2 guest places by Wednesday 28th August; after this date has passed we will then assess if we have any  spare guest places.  We will contact everyone by email as to how to reserve additional places, these will be available on a first come first served basis.

In order to give everyone ample time to complete the registration form, we are unable to accept requests before this announcement has been made.  To be fair to all, there will be no waiting list in place.

Please note that the demand for extra guest places is very high and we are not always able to meet the demand. We are not able to guarantee that additional guest places will be available for each ceremony.

Please ensure you fill out your full guest names on the booking form (without this entry may be refused) and keep us informed of any changes. We do not issue physical tickets for the event; all guests will be registered on arrival on the day.

To ensure that everyone can attend the UCFB graduation ceremony with ease, please complete our online graduation booking form to let us know if you or your party have any access requirements by Friday 28th July. We are able to adjust the venue and seating plan accordingly to support both you and your guests.

Confirmation

Once you have completed the booking form a confirmation will be emailed out to you to confirm this has been received. If you do not receive this email please contact events@ucfb.com.

Please note there will be NO tickets sent out for the ceremony. You will need to attend registration before entering the Stadium with your guests. All those attending a graduation ceremony (including the graduate) are required to bring photographic ID on the day.

Please ensure you fill out your full guest names on the booking form and keep us informed of any changes. We do not issue guest tickets; guests will be registered on arrival on the day.

Dress code

All graduates must wear a cap and gown when receiving their degree certificate.

It is expected that you will dress appropriately and smartly for the occasion. For comfort and practicality, we recommend you wear a top or shirt with buttons as it makes it easier to attach the award ‘hood’. Strapless tops/dresses are not suitable. It is advisable to wear smart but comfortable footwear.
