Master's Scholarships
Dean's Progression Scholarship - School of Sports Business and Management

For UCFB’s most impressive final year students and recent graduates.

Scholarship Includes: 

  • £2700 towards tuition fees
  • Mentorship throughout degree with Dean,  School of Sports Business and Management
  • Ticket to Global Summit of your choice (worth up to £1500)

Eligibility Criteria:

  • UCFB final year student (or graduated within the last year) 
  • We especially encourage applications from students of a Black, Asian or Ethnic Minority background or those identifying as female
Dean's Progression Scholarship - School of Sports Coaching and Performance

This scholarship looks to support students who have not only achieved academically but also shown their commitment to developing themselves on the field gaining coaching experience and additional qualifications.

The successful candidate will receive mentoring in terms of one-to-one support, recorded coaching session support and feedback and visit the Dean in his coaching environment.

Scholarship Includes:

  • £2700 towards tuition fees 
  • Mentorship with Dean of GIS School of Sports Coaching and Performance 
  • Ticket to Global Summit of your choice (worth up to £1500)

Eligibility Criteria:

  • UCFB final year student or recent graduate (or graduated within the last year)
Community First Scholarship - Jason Roberts Foundation

Offered in partnership with the Jason Roberts Foundation, the scholarship programme is open to an outstanding applicant holding an offer for any of GIS Master’s programmes. Candidates should have an interest in football, have the ability to lead and possess experience with outreach work within a local community.

Scholarship includes: 

Eligibility Criteria: 

  • 6-12 months experience within a sports organisation in their local community (reference from your club/organisation representative) 
GIS Elite Athlete Scholarship (Americas)

For elite athletes in the Americas region who have competed or are currently competing at an elite level, for example national or international level, in any sport

Scholarship includes:

  • 50% reduction in tuition fees
  • GIS Sports Kit (worth up to $120)
  • Mentorship throughout your degree with the President of GIS (TBC)
  • Work placement with a matched partnering organisation
  • Tailored athlete support services also available

Eligibility Criteria:

  • Domiciled in Americas region (North and South America)
  • Applicants who have competed at an elite level, for example national or international level, in any sport
GIS Elite Athlete Scholarship (APAC)

For elite athletes in the APAC region who have competed or are currently competing at an elite level, for example national or international level, in any sport

Scholarship includes:

  • 50% reduction in tuition fees
  • GIS Sports Kit (worth up to $175 AUD)
  • Mentorship throughout your degree with the President of GIS (TBC)
  • Work placement with a matched partnering organisation
  • Tailored athlete support services also available

Eligibility Criteria:

  • Domiciled in APAC region (Asia-Pacific)
  • Applicants who have competed at an elite level, for example national or international level, in any sport

For elite athletes in the EMEA region who have competed or are currently competing at an elite level, for example national or international level, in any sport

Scholarship includes:

  • 50% reduction in tuition fees
  • GIS Sports Kit (worth up to £100)

GIS Inspirational Women in Australian Sport Scholarship

In partnership with Women's Sport Australia this scholarship is for outstanding female GIS applicants committed to improving opportunities for women and girls in Australian sports. We encourage all those with an interest in progressing their careers in sport as well as aspirations to enhance opportunities within this space to apply.

Scholarship includes:

  • $3,000 towards your tuition fees 
  • Industry experience with WSA  
  • Applied research project on a WSA challenge 
  • Mentorship with a WSA board member  

Eligibility Criteria: 

  • Female student holding an offer for a GIS Masters course 
  • Australian domiciled 
  • At least 3 months experience in sport

GIS scholarships are highly limited and competitive with far more applicants than available awards. When applying for a scholarship, you must be a current GIS applicant, holding a firmly accepted offer on a 180 credit master’s programme at GIS for September 2023 or January 2024.
