Manchester is one of the country’s most popular student cities, with a whole host of fun things to do right on your doorstep.

The city is full of culture and diversity, and whether you’re interested in art, music, football or just want to do a bit of shopping, your desires are catered for.

As a student, Manchester Central Library is fantastic – consisting of several floors, thousands of books and over 100 computers.

Deansgate Locks features a number of late night venues in the heart of the city.

Of course a big part of being a student is the night life. Manchester is famous for its thriving night scene with an array of different bars catering to lovers of different styles music, and the city centre is full of restaurants, shops and music venues to keep you entertained during your free time.

For fitness fanatics there are also many gyms and different sport facilities, such as swimming baths, squash courts and cycling tracks. UCFB Etihad Campus itself is home to many of these – squash, tennis, cycling and five-a-side football being just some of the options.

You are simply spoilt for choice in Manchester when it comes to places to go and things to do.

Some UCFB Etihad Campus students listed their favourite things about Manchester:

“There’s the Arndale and Trafford Shopping Centres and with Manchester being such a big city, it means travelling to other places is much more accessible.” – Wesley McGrath, BA (Hons) Sports Business & Coaching
