Third Year student Lucy Cross has been speaking about how much she has grown personally and professionally in the last three years, during her studies at our Manchester Campus.

Lucy, a BA (Hons) Football Coaching and Talent Development student, has taken part in work experience placements during her time at UCFB, most notably coaching at the Manchester United Foundation.

Lucy has delivered community-based coaching across Greater Manchester as part of her work with the foundation, using football as a positive for change in the county community.

She said: “My proudest moment at the foundation would have to be developing my confidence, growth and leadership skills. But as a professional level in the community, it’s getting kids involved in football and using football to influence their lives.”

Her journey continues after leaving UCFB, as she will be travelling to Michigan to coach with Liverpool FC International Academy this summer.

She said: “I’m excited to go to America and experience a different culture. I’m excited to take with me what I’ve learnt from my degree into America as well as everything I’ve learnt in Manchester.”

She added: “The best thing about life at UCFB is that the academics are in the industry, so they all have jobs in football as well as lecturing, and they can give advice on your career as well as assignments, and everyone’s really helpful and always looking out for you.”
