Some football fans can only ever dream of working for the club they love and support, but for UCFB graduate James Fletcher that dream is a reality.

Hull City fans will recognise his voice straight away from the Premier League clubs in house video channel Tigers Player.

As well as conducting post match interviews with players and coaching staff, James is also one part of the club’s commentary team at games.

James graduated with a degree in BA (Hons) Football Business & Media from UCFB Burnley in 2016.

He started his journey with Hull City in 2012 when the club asked for volunteers to come forward to help with the club’s video and match day content. James kept his hand in with the club during his time at UCFB and was able to supplement his work on a match day with the unique degree programme fine tuning his ability, as well as opening up other areas for career development.

Put the hard yards in and don’t shy off from trying something new, that’s the advice for students from James: “You never know what you might fall in love with.”

James said: “I’d advise to really balance your studying and social life. I had a policy where if some mates wanted to go out one night, I made sure my work was done, or caught up with them later on after finishing. You don’t want to be going out with work on your mind, get it done, and then enjoy yourself.”

He added: “I’ve had the privilege of working at some of the biggest grounds in the country. Not many people at my age can say they’ve worked at the Etihad Stadium, Old Trafford and Wembley.”
