UCFB students and staff joined officials from The Football Association and the Scottish FA on Armistice Day in falling silent outside Wembley Stadium to remember those who made the ultimate sacrifice.
Attending the special service besides the Bobby Moore statue, UCFB paid their respects at the event which was led by FA Chief Executive Martin Glenn and his Scottish counterpart Stewart Regan, who both laid wreathes at the foot of the statue.
Later that evening, both England and Scotland wore black armbands featuring the poppy as a further sign of respect during their World Cup qualifier at the national stadium.
UCFB’s Head of Student Services, Nick Radley, said: “The students of UCFB feel strongly about the importance of commemorating Remembrance and always display their respect in the utmost of manners. They are the generation who will continue this honoured tradition and it is a privilege to work with such passionate people.”
Staff and students at UCFB Etihad Campus also held a two-minute silence during classes.
