UCFB reached another landmark this week when it struck a partnership with its 300th organisation to enable students to access vital work placement roles in the football, sport and events industries.

Since opening its doors in 2011, UCFB has emphasised the importance to all students of taking on work placement opportunities alongside their studies. In that time, over 1,000 students have been placed in elite organisations around the world including The Football Association, UEFA and the Rugby Football Union.

The NFL, Everton FC and talkSPORT are just some of the other companies UCFB students have excelled and impressed at.

Students have taken on a wide variety of roles to ensure they are as well-equipped as possible for their chosen industry following graduation, with jobs in media, coaching, events and law all regularly undertaken.

UCFB firmly believe there are three ingredients necessary for a career in the football and sport industry: a degree, a network of contacts and a CV full of fantastic work placements.

The placements are in large thanks to UCFB’s Complementary Curriculum & Employability team, who use their contacts within the industry to be able to offer students the opportunity to impress potential employers. The calibre of students who take on these placements is emphasised by the glowing feedback their employers regularly give following the completion of work experience opportunities.

Danny Stroud, Complementary Curriculum & Employability Manager, commented: “Here at UCFB our team actively seek sporting organisations to take on our students in work placement roles. Hitting the 300 mark is a great achievement for the team and one that we strive to double, triple and quadruple in the years to come as UCFB expands.

“It’s important for a student to gain experience in the industry they want to work in and it’s a privilege to be able to set them off on the right foot in a market they feel so passionately about.”
