Football

University of Liverpool 1st team 2-3 UCFB Men’s Undergraduate Academy – Northern Tier 2A
UCFB’s Men’s Undergraduate Academy preserved their 100% record in all competitions after recording a hard-fought victory at the University of Liverpool. An own goal combined with strikes from Joel Mills and Jan Palinkas secured the points, with UCFB requiring just four points from their remaining three games to clinch the title.

UCLan 3rd team 0–7 UCFB Men’s 2nd team – Northern Tier 4C
Joe Lally’s second team maintained their strong promotion push after producing a ruthless seven goal display at UCLan. Trialist Josh Winthrop claimed a stunning hat-trick, whilst Eshan Greer (two), Ephraim Opoku and Denzel Kuzakwawo also got on the scoresheet. UCFB remain second in the table, just one point adrift of leaders Lancaster.

UCFB Men’s 3rd team 1-5 Doncaster 1st team – Northern Tier 6A
Dean Janahi’s effort wasn’t enough for UCFB’s high-flying third team to salvage anything as Doncaster’s ran out as deserved winners. The defeat is the first time the side has dropped points all season, meaning the league championship still hangs in the balance. However, Liam Marsh’s troops still sit top of the table, seven points from their final three games of the season will be enough to secure the title.

UCFB Men’s 4th team – Northern Tier 6C
Due to a fixture rescheduling, the fourth team didn’t play this week. They currently top the division heading into the final weeks of the season.

UCFB Women’s 1st team 1–4 UCLan 1st team – Northern Tier 2A
The Women’s team suffered another disappointing defeat, this time at the hands of UCLan. Sorcha Bramhall notched a well-taken goal, but Jack Wilson’s side have failed to register a win in their last three games.

Tennis

UCFB Men’s 1st team 3–3 Liverpool John Moores – Northern Tier 2A
UCFB’s tennis team earned a respectable point against third place Liverpool John Moores, despite having one less player for the entire tie. Lewis Catto’s still lie at the foot of the table, but the draw with LJMU will have provided the team with a much needed confidence boost.
