UCFB students and alumni are among the finalists at this year’s North West Football Awards, set to take place next month in Manchester.

The awards celebrate everything that is great about football in the North West of England – from Premier League players and managers to community and inclusion awards.

Among the award categories is best Fan Media Channel, where BA (Hons) Football Business & Media graduate Ross Chandley and his colleagues at Liverpool FC’s The Redmen TV will go up against the likes of Full Time Devils and The Pie At Night.

Elsewhere, BA (Hons) Multimedia Sports Journalism student and Fylde Ladies striker Georgia Stevens has been nominated in the Women’s Rising Star category, going up against international and Women's Super League players.

Looking forward to the awards Monday 11th November, Georgia said: “Attending the awards was a goal of mine for the end of this season, so to be doing it on the back of last season's performance is massive. I was immensely proud to even be nominated so to make it to the four finalists is a huge achievement for me. To be listed alongside players from such high-profile clubs is a big deal for me personally, but is also brilliant for Fylde.”

Good luck to both Ross and Georgia from everyone at UCFB!
