UCFB is delighted to announce it has been shortlisted at this year’s Times Higher Education Leadership and Management Awards.

The world first institution has been nominated for the Outstanding Marketing/Communications Team prize, which recognises the work done by the leading marketing and communications departments in higher education.

UCFB’s ‘Careers in Sport’ campaign, which featured our outstanding alumni in their place of work at the centre of the campaign, has been recognised as an effective and leading example in the sector.

Featuring videos, pictures and stories of alumni including Amy O’Connor at Watford FC, Alexander Brown at The Football Association and Joe Thompson at Stoke City FC, the campaign’s goal was focussed on creating engaging and motivating content with a clear message to state that a career in sport is accessible and exciting. Judges were impressed by the impact that the campaign had on student recruitment for the 2016/17 cycle, with particular emphasis on engagement with under represented groups in sport.

Sharona Friedman, chief marketing officer at UCFB, said: “It’s a great honour to be nominated by the Times Higher Education panel for this award and one we’re very proud of. The UCFB marketing team work hard every day to ensure that an inspirational message is portrayed to prospective and current students about life at UCFB and the opportunities available to them in the football and sports industry. Our increasing student numbers and graduates gaining employment at the highest levels of the industry is testament to that.”
