Lara Owen, Business Development Executive at UCFB Wembley, is delighted to have been selected for the England Lacrosse team’s upcoming Hamburg Invitational Tournament, and is looking forward to making her full international debut for her country in a sport that she’s extremely passionate about.

A lacrosse player since the age of 10, Lara played throughout her time at university and into her career at UCFB. In 2010, she was called up to the England national team training camp, of which she has been a regular member ever since. Lara has proudly captained the England B Team on numerous occasions over the past two years, including in home internationals and summer tournaments.

This year, however, Lara has been promoted to the England A Team for the first time as the national team head to Hamburg in late May; a star-studded tournament that culminates in the headline fixture against Germany on Sunday 24th May. A fantastic achievement, Lara is hopeful of making her first appearance for the England A Team in the tournament.

On her recent selection, Lara commented:

“It has been my target since I started training within the England setup to be able to join the elite squad and receive a cap for the England A Team. I’ve been working towards it for a number of years so it is very exciting to get the call up. It is an honour to receive this recognition and potentially gain my first England cap.”
