Summer is the perfect opportunity for students to get out into the working world and find those all important work placements to bolster their CV alongside a UCFB degree.

With often no educational commitments over the summer, students are encouraged to commit their time to gaining work experience, just like Chak Lam Yip did this summer in Hong Kong.

The BA (Hons) Football Business & Media student spent time with the Hong Kong Football Association as an intern in the governing body’s grassroots department. His main duties were centred around the Jockey Club Youth Football Development Programme event, where he ensured over 10,000 children aged four to 17 were registered and able to take part in the development programme.

Chak also helped out with enquires over the HKFA’s other youth programmes and had the opportunity to help out during Games Day – a competition for district teams.

Commenting on his time in Asia, Chak said: “This work experience gave me the insight to see how the HKFA makes sure that they provide the best for youth development in Hong Kong with the right coaching.”
